Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a KTH student to assist us on-site at Teknikringen 1, the meeting place for innovation and entrepreneurship at KTH, where KTH Innovation is also located.

We are looking for someone who is likely in their second or third year of the Design and Product Development program or a similar education. The student hired for this part-time position will assist with practical and process-oriented support for prototype manufacturing in KTH Innovation's Maker space for the startups and projects supported by KTH Innovation. You will help the teams with practical tasks and finding solutions to their needs.

This means you are expected to assist both digitally and physically, for example, by providing support in creating CAD models, practical support in 3D printing, or in prototype manufacturing with hand tools. You will introduce the teams to working in the makerspace and also help create routines in the space to ensure that the workshop is a welcoming place that is clean and tidy.

You are also expected to guide teams through the product development process by suggesting methodologies and approaches, without necessarily being operational in product development in the project.

Administrative tasks and support at events/external visits to KTH Innovation may also occur. Working hours will be irregular, and participation in various evening events will be required.

The position is 20%. The working hours will largely be flexible to accommodate your studies.

Qualifications

Requirements

You must be admitted to a degree program at a Swedish higher education institution
You express yourself well in English, both spoken and written, as it is required in daily work
Practical knowledge of one or more CAD software
Experience with the use and handling of 3D printers

Desirable

Student at KTH with at least one year of studies remaining
Experience in prototype manufacturing of physical products
Knowledge of electronics
Practical knowledge in building hardware and/or software solutions
Experience and understanding of the product development process
Experience using 3D printers such as Ultimaker S5 and/or Makerbot Replicator Z18
Comfortable meeting and helping new people
A attentive, open, and creative individual with a solution-oriented mindset and curiosity to learn new things
Swedish-speaking as it facilitates daily work
